April 3, 1982 Saturday

I just got a call (1:30 a.m.) from Bryant Jr. saying tht Therese had her baby. A baby girl. They haven’t picked a name yet. Bryant says she looks a lot like Margaret, but not the red hair. I’m once again a proud aunt.

I’m still quite interested in Robert. I can’t wait for the cabin next weekend. We had fun the 29th. Especially at Spaghetti Warehouse & then we walked around the Hyatt and Reunion Tower. He still has only kissed me one time. (At MTM, Kevin & Kathleen’s b.d)

1) Robert Bevis

No one else!

I bought 6 short outfits.

Dee Ann wrote & called. She’s in love with a new guy, Tom. Flipped! She says the feeling is mutual.

I like ROBERT! But I’m not flipped over him!

June 28, 1982 Monday

The new prince was finally named. His name is William Arthur Phillip (and one more name, I forgot). Those are good strong names. I missed work today because I twisted my foot last nite. Mom’s taking me to the doctor tomorrow.

Keith & I went out Saturday nite & had a wonderful time. We really had a great talk (for about 3 hours).

I’m back & forth on my feelings for Robert. About 2 weeks ago, we really became close. I thought I was flipped over him & then my feelings changed.

My new niece is named Laura Jeanne. She’s wonderful and all my other babies are wonderful.

GOTTA GO!

July 4, 1982 Sunday

Actually, it’s the 5th because it’s 4:45 in the morning. I just finished reading all my journals. I feel I need to add a few things. For instance, when Alex died there were two special people who helped me. (All my friends came by for support, but two really pulled me through). They were Dee Ann (my dearest friend) & Russell Simpson. No matter what I've Said about Russell in the past, he was the one I needed, and he was there by my side to pull me through. He’s had his problems just like anybody else, but I shall forever be endeared to his caring, loving ways he showed me that day. Russell made me laugh, he held me & let me cry. Mr. Russell Blaisdell Simpson III was my true love. I deeply appreciate the care he showed me that day. I can also say for Russell, that he was never deliberately cruel to anyone. Maybe too idealistic, but never mean. Russell was like Alex as to the fact he rather not say anything at all than cause some kind of disturbance. I admire that kind, humble idea of life, but it doesn’t always work. Russell is beautiful spiritually (quite poetic & musical). Of course, I love that. He wants to be everything to everybody, then becomes frustrated when he’s not.

I guess I could go on for hours. I just had to put down on paper how he helped me through the most traumatic experience of my life; and how I deeply love him for it.

Russell, I definitely was (& somewhat still maybe) in love with.

(Poem about Russell)

MAKE ME LAUGH

When I smiled;

He made me cheer

When I sang;

He made me proud

When I looked;

He made me see

And when I needed;

He made me love..

But best of all --

When I cried;

He made me laugh!

Thank you Russell!!

July 10, 1982 Saturday

Tonite I saw one of the most spine tingling performances in all my life. I saw Carol Channing in “Hello Dolly.” Live at the Dallas Summer Musicals. Oh, I loved it! I got tears in my eyes just watching & listening to the cast singing & dancing. I wanted to be up there with them. And Carol Channing was fabulous! I felt (first time in a long time) truly in touch with who I really am. Oh, I can’t fully explain. I just know I need to get to singing again & not wasting idle time.

Roger (Oh, I love him) & I went to get tickets for Evita August 1st. I cannot wait for that! Just Roger and I are going. That’ll be nice.

I LOVE THE ENTERTAINERS OF THE WORLD!

They make me so happy!
