Tuesday
Barry and I have been talking marriage more seriously lately. Especially last night on the phone. I think we have definitely decided on 1985 for the year. Now, it’s the decision of the month. In some ways, I would like about February of ‘85 and then in other ways I would like September or October of ‘85. It partly depends on when we get engaged, when we are financially ready and where we go on our honeymoon. I feel mixed up about it all. I feel very excited and yet at the same time, I feel apprehensive. I guess I don’t want to ever rush into anything.
I know one thing (Barry just called). I DO love that guy with all my heart and I can’t imagine anybody being a better husband or father than he.

Thursday
Barry and I went over to DeeAnn and Brian’s apartment last night for the first time. It’s a darling apartment. Very, very spacious. And everything is in one big circle, which I love. I’m still in a dilemma as to what to get them for their wedding. I have to find at least one thing by next Sunday, her shower. I really would like to get them the pillowcases that I saw at Valley View that said “I have a headache” - “I have an aspirin.” Those are cute. They’d be great for an extra gift. I’ll go to the stores where I have a charge card and look around. I want to get them together something really cute, like matching warm-up suits or something similar. That would be neat; something with Newlyweds written on them.

I just found out that Cully and Allison had a little boy and named him Kalen Alexander Boren. That makes Mary sick because she’s expecting in June and had planned to name her boy (if she had one) Alexander. Everybody seems to want to name their child after Alex. I always wanted to also. I could always name my son Robert after Alex’s first name. Robert Barent Johnson, sounds nice. (After Alex and Barry.) Or, of course, Robert Moseley Johnson. That would be named after Alex and Mom’s maiden name. But, I’m pretty sure Barry would want to name his son at least one name Barent. Which I can understand. Even Barent Moseley or Moseley Barent sounds good. He is also almost insistent on the name Mandy for a girl, which I do not like. I want and hopefully will name my daughter after my momma, Priscilla. I personally like either Priscilla Jane or Priscilla Leigh. (That would be after his mom and mine. His mom’s name is Lee.) It secretly would be also named after Vivien Leigh. I prefer the spelling Leigh over Lee for a girl. But I guess I ought to at least get a ring on my finger before I start deciding all of this.

Tuesday
Last night, Barry and I went shopping and I finished all of everything I need for DeeAnn’s shower and wedding. I bought her two very nice presents: 1) a brass and glass table (stand) to put a plant or something on 2) a set of sheets and pillowcases for their queen size bed 3) Barry and I went in together and got them two huge mugs with their names on each.
I’m very proud of what we got them.
