NOVEMBER 11, 1983

Friday

Today Kevin is supposed to be in town. He will be here through Tuesday; it’ll be good to see him. I really have no idea what we’ll be doing at all, but I know that I would like to see Rear Window if it’s still playing at Northpark III & IV. This is the first time this movie has been shown (at all, including t.v.) since Hitchcock died. We’ll probably do that tomorrow night. As for tonight, Kevin may want to visit with people he hasn’t seen in a while (like Bradley) so we may just go visiting people. I don’t know if Barry is going anywhere or not tonight, but he’ll definitely go somewhere with us tomorrow night. It probably wouldn’t be such a bad idea if Barry and I did something separately tonight.

I talked to Kevin and we’re going to run around together and maybe go visiting people. Barry is going to stay home, he’s extremely tired. It will be good for Kevin and I to visit by ourselves, since it’s been four month since I’ve seen him.

I am so ready for this day to be over so I can begin the weekend. I mean, tonight Kevin and I are going out to have fun, tomorrow I will eat lunch with Barry, tomorrow night Kevin, Barry, Sherri, Randall (maybe), Kathleen and whoever else wants to, are going to see, as I said before - Rear Window.

Tuesday

Well, this was probably the most explosive weekend I have ever had!

FRIDAY - NIGHT was fun, but relaxing, calm. Kevin came in town and he, Kathleen and I went to Chili’s. We stayed over there until 1:00 a.m., then left. Randall was there too.

Before leaving, I called Mom because there was a special about the Kennedy Assassination, and I wanted to make sure it was Dad’s film they were showing. (It was.) Anyway, Mom told me that Elizabeth Phillips called for me and said that Jill Sorenson was in her apartment at that very moment. I was about to die. Jill Sorenson! I haven’t seen her since 7th grade. It seems Elizabeth’s new roommate is Carol Wyant who has been Jill’s good friend since Jill lived in Longview, way back. (I’ve met Carol many times in the past.) Anyway, we made plans to all go out to lunch Saturday at 3:00 at Cardinal Puff’s.

SATURDAY - At 1:30, Saturday, I ate lunch with Barry; that was nice. (I met his boos, Mr. Lloyd.) I went to Mom’s to get a few things and say “Hello!”

At 3:00, I met Jill, Carol and Elizabeth (Libby) at Cardinal Puff’s for cocktails. Jill seemed so different than when I had seen her last. (After all, it’s been 10 years!) She had gained quite a bit of weight. But still very sweet and interesting!!

Afterwards, we came to my apartment, had some wine, and visited quite a bit. They had planned to leave about 6:30, and the next thing we knew it was 7:00 p.m.; and Kevin showed up. We all got along great and about 7:30 Barry came. Well, time kept passing and they ended up staying until 12:30 a.m. We reminisced, laughed, sang and even cried. It was really neat! We (everybody at the apartment) drank and became quite tipsy and Jill and I kept telling each other how glad that we were now back together. We became rather silly, but cute and funny. Jill really liked Barry. I do too.

SUNDAY - Early a.m. (8:30) Barry and I picked DeeAnn and Brian up and we all went to the cabin for the day. That was a lot of fun.

Though Jill and I never "saw" each other again, we stayed in touch quite a bit via Facebook. I remember around my bday (about 3 years ago) - I told her to come to my birthday party... - she lives in LA. She said she wished she could - she never told me... she was sick. One day I saw a post from her friends, Carolyn (in pics) saying that her best friend was "GONE" - what??????????? She was rushing on a plane to be with Jill's daughter, Katy. I didn't even know she was sick... still makes me sooo sad.
