MARCH 12, 1984

Monday

I had a fun weekend. Friday night was definitely the most eventful, but Saturday and Sunday were fun in a relaxing way.

Friday - Barry and I were going to watch Play it Again Sam and we invited Sherri. Well, she comes to my door with a surprise guest, Johnnie Christian, whom I haven’t seen in ages. Later after the movie, Tim Shirey and Kathleen came, and about midnight, Kevin came in from Austin. Before Kevin got there, the guys and girls played Charades against each other. The girls whooped the guys. That was great! We all visited and acted crazy until about 2:30 when everyone left except Sherri and Barry. (Both spent the night.) Sherri and I haven’t spent the night with each other in quite a while and it was fun. We talked until 5:45 a.m. Barry snoozed all that time on the couch, and woke me up to say goodbye about 6:45 a.m. He couldn’t believe it when IsaidI had only been asleep about an hour.

Thursday

Today Kevin came and went to lunch with me. We walked to the library, checked out Victor Victoria and then ate at Las Pappas Mexican food. We had a good time.

Friday

Today is the fourth anniversary of Alex’s death.

I called Bryant this morning to confirm Sunday night’s visit. He doesn’t know exactly when he’ll be over, but he says he’ll definitely come. This will be the first time I’ve visited with him for a long period of time since he and Therese separated… He bought a brand new BMW two door sports car. He’s going to bring it over Sunday and show it to me and Barry. This will be nice for Barry and Bryant to really get to talk to each other.

Tonight DeeAnn, Brian, Kevin and of course, Barry are coming over to watch Victor Victoria and visit. I hope I start feeling better, though. I have a scratchy throat and it’s sore. Barry has had a little bit of a cold and I guess I got it from him. Like the old song… “What do you get when you kiss a guy, you get enough germs to catch pneumonia.” TEE HEE! I’m waiting for Barry’s phone call right now.

Tuesday

I just heard from Cam. Surprise! Surprise! Well, the news is good and bad. The good news is that Cam has a girlfriend. Her name is Amy and he met her at his National Beauty School. He’s known her since November 8, (one month after Barry and I started dating) and is sure that he is in love with her. I hope everything works out.

The bad news is his mother gets out of the hospital tomorrow. She went in because she was hemorraging. She also has two tumors and they don’t know yet whether they’re malignant or benign. I pray that the tumors are benign.

Thursday

Today is Sandy Graves’ 24th birthday. Actually, Graves is not her last name now, but I don’t know her husband’s last name.

It is 4:20 p.m. Only about 10 or 15 more minutes and Ican start putting my things away for the day. Barry is coming over tonight; we’re going to eat, watch Chariots of Fire (I have it on video tape) and then watch my favorite t.v. show, Knots Landing. I love Barry!

Last night, we went to Mom and Dad’s. They have a new computer, Commodore. We played around with that. It’s fun. When Mom and Dad go on their cruise, Saturday morning, I’ll watch the house for them, and learn exactly how to use the computer.
