MAY 1980 (Love blossoming all around)

May 7, 1980 (Wednesday)

Everything has been great lately. School’s almost out and I’m half & half about getting out. I need the rest from the work, but I’ll miss all the people (guys).

Here’s the latest on the guys. (No certain order)

1. Travis Davis - I’m still interested, but not near as much as before. He’s too distant and his type of flirting sometimes bugs me. When we’re alone he’s a doll, but around other people he teases me (too much). Oh well!

2. Jim Brownsen - He still tickles me & asks me out, but as before I only like him for a friend. Luckily, he’s dating other people, so I don’t feel bad.

3. Robert Massey - HE BUGS ME! He keeps calling & I keep making excuses. He thinks he’s “God’s gift to Women.” I like more humble guys.

4. Tracy Delk - I still think of him a lot of course. But as always, I’m ready to try again. I tend to date guys who remind me of Tracy.

5. Kevin Tholey - Okay - he’s the new “kid on the block.” I met him at Kim Heidloff’s party last Saturday. He’s 6 ft. 4 in. tall, dark wavy hair and green eyes. A doll! I have to admit, though, sometimes in his eyes remind me of Tracy. He’s a doll. I’m having a surprise party for Scott Friday nite & he’s coming as my date. He attends Grayson County College close to Oklahoma. (I always manage to be interested in guys who live far away). (Travis lives in Terrell.) Ho hum!

I have a piano exam tomorrow. Gotta sleep. (It’s beginning to rain. I have the window open). I love it!

Oh yeah, last nite, I visited with Cheryl & Ma. It was so nice to be with them again. I love them dearly. BYE!

I voted last Sat. in the pres. Primaries for Ronald Reagan.

May 14, 1980 (Wednesday)

I have a few major things to write about. First of all, I started my new job today. I work as an aide at G.A.R.C. (Garland Association of Retarded Citizens). It takes children from ages 3 & up. I think I’m really gonna like it. I get paid $6.10 an hour. (Good pay, huh?) The work is so rewarding. It's what I’ve always wanted to do. Good experience.

Dee Ann’s home! She came in tonight. She’s stir crazy over Tim. I’m worried though coz of his old girlfriend, Lucy. He hasn’t completely dumped her yet. Dee Ann’s being patient, but she can’t take it forever. I pray that she gets what she really wants & deserves. I love her & I hate to see her hurt.

Speaking of that, I’ve finally came to a resolution. Believe it or not, it’s hard to come to a resolution myself, but I’ve been in love twice. Once with Russell, & am still very much in love with Tracy. I still sometimes feel for Russell. In fact, if I could know he’d love me like he used to, I’d probably take him right back. I wonder if any guy has been truly in love with me. (I don’t know about Russell - he was in love with Robin Doss). I guess Cam Craig. He still thinks about me he said. Kevin Durrant might have, I don’t know. Russell is the only guy who told me that he loved me, but he’s like that. He was crazy about me though, for about a year. Who knows? Phillip Goodrich was just an infatuation. A big crush. I thought he was beautiful.

A lot of guys have told me that they liked me a lot, but never that they loved me. (Except Russell, of course).

Friday morning we’re going to Austin. Bryant graduates from law school. We’re bringing them back with us to live for a couple of months. Until they find a house. It’ll be fun having Margaret here all summer.
