NOVEL NOVEMBER '81 Pt. 2

November 22, 1981 Sunday

Last nite, Robert Bevis & I went out to eat at El Chico’s, then to Farrell’s, then we saw “Time Bandits” (pretty good movie - rather strange).

At El Chico’s, we talked quite openly to each other. He’s a good friend of Thomas’s. Robert said that I was the first girl Thomas has ever kissed. If so, he caught on quickly. I still am somewhat attracted by him. He fascinates me. If all this really is the (and I trust Robert), then that can explain his sudden shyness after our kiss. Thomas automatically thought the kiss meant we were supposed to remain together, but I didn’t mean that at all. He’s way too immature & shy for me, (not shy so much as sheltered). I like guys who are shy enough to be sweet, gentleman-like & rather modest, yet secure enough to handle my openness, independence & aggression. (2021 - aggression?? Lol - nope)

Somehow I’m really still attracted to him.

Doug & I slow danced Friday nite, & he kissed my neck a couple of times, but nothing for me. He’s just not my type. I wish I knew who would be my type.

Qualities for my husband

3) Very gentleman-like

4) Ambitious

5) Neat, clean/Attractive (goes together)

6) Music lover (preferably singer or pianist)

7) romanticist

9) Doesn’t mind who makes the moves

10) Old-fashioned enough to not kiss me on the 1st date.

11) Witty (makes me laugh)

12) Good conversationalist

13) Pretty much same religious beliefs (rather liberal)

14) Wants to live in the city

15) Likes to travel

16) Likes kids

17) Adores me (in every way)

18) Kisses well

19) Likes to dance (pretty good)

20) Enjoys sports, but no jock (2021 comment - why would I EVER say that? lol)

21) Enjoys life

22) Can keep me in line (but not too much)

23) Not a stickler for a good cook & housekeeper

24) Conservative political views (pretty much)

Well, that’s enough. I see a little of all my boyfriends in those traits. Yet, some qualities none had. Actually, I described myself. LOL-2021

November 29, 1981 Sunday

This past weekend has been just great. Scott & Kevin Q were in town. I had a nice Thanksgiving. But it all ended today sadly. Probably one of my all-time favorite actresses died today. Natalie Wood (attach pic) - She drowned and she was afraid of water. WAY too soon!

I’ve mentioned a few time about how the movie “Splendor in the Grass” hits home. She, of course, starred in it (and was nominated for that movie - same year as West Side Story). Among her great movies:

1) Miracle of 34th Street (age 5)

2) Rebel Without a Cause (age 17)

3) West Side Story

4) This Property is Condemned

5) Gypsy

She was by far my favorite contemporary star (female). She was only 43. She drowned on Catalina Bay.

Natalie reminds me of Vivien Leigh as far as getting to me. Vivien though a star of the 40’s (& 30’s), whereas Natalie a star of 50’s and 60’s. She could be sooo sexy and yet vulnerable. Love those combinations!

Recently, she was in a movie called “Brainstorm” with Christopher Walkien. Really inventive and good - I thought she was back!!

I’ve really felt like crying.

I’m tired.

(2021 comment - I know, for a fact, we had a party that weekend… - coz friends came back over Sunday to help clean and we were all talking about Natalie Wood’s death)

November 30, 1981 Monday

Tonite I had Choir rehearsal for the Messiah. We’re singing with the Garland Symphony & they’re terrible. Afterwards, Cam, Sherri, Brooks, Linda, Janet, Allison, Sharon, Robert, John, Johnnie & I went to J. Oliver’s to eat. Johnnie is really quite interested in me & I’m finding myself a bit attracted to him. I didn’t say yesterday about how Johnnie kissed me at my party. I was totally distant, yet he kept pursuing. He totally made the first move. Remember, Johnnie is the guy who Sherri has been in love with for 4 or 5 years. (2021 - HER Russell).. Problem, right? Johnnie has or has ever had no intention on dating her. Anyway, tonite I found myself slightly attracted to him. Oh well. Johnnie also is the guy with the AMAZING singing voice! (2021 - What I do remember from this party is Cam came out.. Admitted he’s gay j- sorta.. And it made Johnnie -and maybe more? - uncomfortable… and he grabbed my hand, took me upstairs to Mom & Dad’s room and passionately kissed me. - Don’t think he actually ever asked me out tho)

Mom & Aunt Clara told me some interesting news tonite. As you know, William Holden died 2 weeks (at the most) before Natalie Wood. Okay. Robert Wagner (Natalie’s husband) & Stephanie Powers (Holden’s long-time girlfriend) are in a popular t.v. show, HART TO HART. They play husband and wife. Well, doesn’t it seem more than a coincidence that with Holden & Powers being lovers, that she wouldn’t have contacted him in a week? Remember, Holden had been dead a week before found. IT all sounds fishy to me. What I’m insinuating is, let’s look at the facts.

Powers & Holden - Known lovers

Wagner & Wood - Husband & wife

Let’s say Powers & Wagner had a secret affair & Holden found out. Holden caused a problem, so they got rid of him. That explains why Stephanie didn’t try to see him for a week. (No witnesses to his supposedly accidental death).

Okay, later Natalie finds out about the secret affair. It’s time to get rid of her. No witnesses to her boating accident either.

AWFULLY COINCIDENTAL - I’ll leave it at that.
