Summer & Movies under the Stars

June 22, 1980 (Sunday)

I have a few major things to write. First, I love my job! Secondly, I went out with Gerald Townsend today to see “Urban Cowboy.” I don’t like him much but he keeps on calling. Bryant said he called 4 times tonight. (Between 8:00 p.m. & 11:00 p.m.) Another Jim I’m afraid.

Now for the big news. You’ll never believe who I’m very interested in right now. Cam Craig. Yes, oh Cameron! I can’t hardly believe it except I’ve seen him the past two Saturdays & had a blast. He didn’t kiss me last weekend, but he did last night & fire struck. I’m beginning to like him so much that I’m already paranoid that he didn’t call. Of course he went to church this morning and tonight. And I was gone a lot today.

Oh well!

We’re supposed to see “The Shining” Tues. nite. I can’t wait.

Friday night I saw “The Blues Brothers” movie with John Belushi & Dan Ackroyd. It was hilarious. They’re coming to Dallas. I want to see them!

Good Nite! (2020 comment - we did see them in person and they were amazing - Belushi died not too long after that - and I was always soooo glad I saw them!)

B.C. & Therese found a home in Casa View where they’ll rent until they can buy a good one.

June 24, 1980 (Tuesday)

I went & saw “The Shining” with Cam & his mom. It was good. (I liked “The Changeling” better though).

Afterwards, we dropped his mother home (she’s a doll) & Cam & I went to Arby’s & riding around. We had a nice time.

Scott & Vera are 90% chance gonna break up. Scott is frantic! I hope that whatever happens is for the best!
